(iii) said to be traced back to Yang You Ji (養由基) an official in the state of Chu during the Spring and Autumn period (770–476 BC).4: Chinese: Mandarin form of the surname 有 meaning ‘have’ in Chinese: (i) from You (有) the name of an ancient state (possibly located in Hennan province) during the Shang dynasty (1600–1046 BC).
