En Languedoc, un fenassier est un homme qui a une écurie où il reçoit et nourrit les chevaux moyennant salaire. On l'appelle affeneur à Béziers. C'est aussi l'ouvrier qui fait la provision de fourrage et la dépose dans l'écurie.
