On Geneanet, you can view the list of possible duplicates in your family tree and easily merge them if needed.
Go to your tree, then hover your mouse over the search field at the top right of the screen. Click “Advanced Search” on the contextual menu, then click the tab “LIST” and finally select “List of possible duplicates”.
You can easily select some persons and merge them if needed.
Note:
– This is a list of possible duplicates and you must verify that it’s not different persons with the same name.
– The merge cannot be undone so be sure that it’s duplicate persons before doing it.
– Listed are the persons with same last name and same first names in the same order so you may have some other duplicate persons in your family tree.

Thanks for the reply, however, I know how and where to find the duplicates, I was informing you that on my last ged upload, there were many births and death dates duplicated. As, I said I have corrected at least 100 so far and this was the message, there is an after death event and what that event was a duplicate of their death as well as each person had a duplicate birth event. Some had triplicate, maybe 10 or so. I just thought you should be aware of it. Thanks

In the 19th century, the Maire of Boulogne wrote to the British Consul before closing the cemetery and it being put to different uses, a list of all the British buried therein. The lists (2), were published in the ‘British Archivist’. As these publications were being destroyed it seemed a good idea to make copies of his letters sent to the magazine. Shall I publish the letters here? The original are dated early in the 19th century.

Apparently you fail to say to see all this you must be a premium member because it is invisible and instructions worthless without.
This site sucks. The DNA matches are worthless. The entire site is hardly worth the effort. Ancestry.com would be better to absorb it and quit keeping a worthless site open.
Answer from Geneanet: This feature is available to all members with trees, free and Premium. If you encounter difficulties using Geneanet, be sure to visit our forums.

I have a couple of duplications. I merged my Ancestry file with Geneanet’s. In my tree, there were instances when a widow married her dead husband’s brother. In ancestry, I was told I needed to list the brother as a member of t his family and again as the second husband to widow. Does Geneanet have a better solutions.

I went to Search and “Advanced search” did not appearas an option. doesn’t anybody check before making a false statement?
Answer from Geneanet: We are referring to Advanced search within your tree, which is different from the advanced search options of collections. The former is available to all tree owners at Geneanet; the latter is available to Premium members with or without a tree.

I don’t recognize either of the “duplicates” you indicated were part of my family tree.
Answer from Geneanet: Clicking on either name will open their record in your tree.

I’ve worked on duplicates the last couple of days. Be ause French names and words use 2 accents we don’t have in the English language, some names won’t find a duplicate. Including a dash or omitting one also will not allow a match to show up. Ideally, it would be helpful to have a color code in either the background or the line around a box for each continent.
Answer from Geneanet: Thank you for your suggestions which we will pass on to the development team.

I got the same message

I don’t have a tree, but so I looked in a tree from one of your enquirers. You should have said “Hover your mouse over the “Last Name or Soas/AI”, “First name” FIELDS, (not Form) or the white magnifying glass in a red square, and select “Advanced Search” from the pop-up menu.
Blame yourself for this confusion
Answer from Geneanet: We have updated the article text taking into account your suggestions. Thank you for your feedback.

Is a strange process. In a case here, the name Nora came up. No other identifying information is given, so finding the ‘correct’ Nora is painful and impossible for me .. and I’m no dummy
Answer from Geneanet: In principle, only people with the same first and last names will be evaluated as duplicates.

Is this for premium members? I do not see magnifying glass in a red square. Nor the other cues you write about.
Answer from Geneanet: Go to your tree; you will see the search field and magnifying glass at the upper right.

I uploaded a ged file from ancestry and for some reason it duplicated many births and deaths. I have corrected at least 100 already. The message says death after death event, however it is a birth and death event duplicated. Just wanted to pass this on. Can’t imagine what happened, but it did.
Answer from Geneanet: In a case like this, it’s best to post your issue in our forum which is monitored by support.

I can not find the search you are talking about in the top right of the screen. You need to give more complete instructions.
Answer from Geneanet: Go to your family tree, then in the upper right corner of your screen, there is a magnifying glass in a red square. When you hover over that with your mouse, a dropdown menu appears. The bottom item is Advanced Search, select that. In the Advanced Search screen, select the middle tab: LIST. The bottom item in that tab is List of possible duplicates. You will be shown possible duplicates, which you may want to merge if you are sure they are duplicates. If your tree is well-documented with full names and birth and death dates, the system will calculate if there are no possible duplicates and say so.

Can’t do as You ask. Run “mouse” over search form ???
Where is the SEARCH FORM. If I do get anything, it is the instructions on how to do the Search Form.
Won’t work if You can’t get a FORM to work with.
Respectfully,
