For the past two years, the annual RootsTech genealogy event in Salt Lake City has been virtual because of the Covid-19 pandemic. This year, we are excited to be present again in person!
RootsTech is a global family history event held annually in Salt Lake City, Utah, the home of its organizer FamilySearch, a Geneanet partner. For the past two years however, the event has been virtual online only — and free — because of the Covid-19 pandemic. This year, RootsTech is back, with an important change from the pre-Covid years: free virtual online access has been maintained for those who cannot attend in person.
We are excited to be back at RootsTech, March 2-4, 2023 to meet Geneanet members, answer your questions, discuss our latest collaborative projects, and show you our latest innovations such as our new improved search results screen! And of course, we will also be there to show Geneanet to attendees who aren’t familiar with us.
We look forward to seeing you! Come by booth #311 and meet us in person!

I’m coming to Rootstech this coming week, will I be able to get some one on one hands-on training on the Geneanet system ? When would be the best time to schedule and will it be at booth 31I ? Do I bring my own laptop ? am a premium member and would like help transfering my tree from Familysearch to Genenet and really learn correct way of entering infos and making corrections
Answer from Geneanet: By all means, drop by our booth and we will do our best to assist you! You don’t need to bring your laptop, but do bring it with you if you have it. Remember, the Family History Library is next door to the venue and has extended hours during RootsTech week; the librarians are very helpful with FamilySearch issues.

Thanks for your information, If possible I would like to know if anyone else is working on the same d=family tree as I. I have seen some trees where some of my ancestors were mentioned but never seen trees going back to my Irish ancestors back in late 1700’s.. Can I find such info,.Thanks
Answer from Geneanet: Irish genealogy prior to the mid-19th century can be very challenging. Read our article, Resources for Irish Genealogy, for tips on how to search for ancestors in that timeframe. And don’t hesitate to ask questions in our regional forum for Ireland.
