Can we reference Google Drive documents in GEDCOM files instead of local files in order to upload them to Geneanet?

I am using a Family Tree Maker 2005 version and have successfully exported all the family tree to Geneanet except for the photos. Is it possible to export the photos as well and if so, how do I do it?

Sophia, it’s best to download all the images you want from Ancestry to your own computer. Photos, maps and record images can only be seen while you are a paid member, so back everything up on your own computer!

You can download them through a computer. Find the photo, right click, open image in new tab, and right click again and save image as, then name it and save it onto your hard drive. I do it all of the time

It’s really too bad that Geneanet isn’t compatible with much. Ancestry is so user friendly but I find Geneanet quite the opposite. The only reason I use it is because I’m trying to find my French ancestors, but I can’t find much about them. I don’t speak French and even with Google translate it’s so difficult to find anything.

How do you get a photo into a GEDCOM file? Will any genealogy software package allow a photo to be uploaded to a GEDCOM file it makes?
Answer from Geneanet: A GEDCOM file does not contain the image files but the location of the image files on your personal computer or in the genealogy website you are using.

Most of my photographs are saved on Ancestry. Is there a way I can export it off Ancestry and import it into Geneanet?
