Archaeologists Uncover Original Home of Lady Jane Grey in Bradgate Park

Stone buildings which are believed to be the original home of Lady Jane Grey, the nine day queen, have been uncovered at Bradgate Park. Archaeologists from the University of Leicester have been working at the park since 2015 to unearth the history buried in the park.

Since then, they have found a series of ‘stone structures’ that lie under the standing brick buildings. The academics believe that these stone buildings are more likely to be the ones Lady Jane Grey would have lived in than the brick built ruins of Bradgate House that remain.
