Photograph Commemorative Plaques Near You

Posted by Jean-Yves on Jan 16, 2019

Geneanet propose you to photograph commemorative plaques which pay tribute to notable local persons: politicians, authors, scientists, inventors, architects, bishops,…

Walk the streets and photograph plaques to help genealogists finding new information about their notable ancestors.

How to participate

1. Verify that the commemorative plaque is not in the database at https://en.geneanet.org/memorials/geo.

2. Photograph the commemorative plaque and the building if it is of some interest.

3. Upload your pictures at https://en.geneanet.org/cemetery/upload/.

Don’t forget to enter the postal address or the GPS coordinates of the place.

The plaque must contain some information about the person: name, date, occupation, event…

Thanks for your participation!
