Digital Archive for Historic Washington Newspapers Launched

Students, history buffs, and the just plain curious now have a new easy-to-use resource to dig into Washington’s history.

The Washington State Library has launched a webpage containing digitized copies of thousands of historic newspapers from around the state.

Director for the Digital Newspaper Project Shawn Shollmeyer says, “[There’s] all kinds of reasons to use this great page… It’s a great opportunity for people to browse the newspapers, or look for significant information that they are trying to find about their families, or for student projects.”

This will be great for those of you who do a lot of research in Washington. And another great chance for some/all of the other states to live up to the challange.


Excellent sources for Washington research and noting what was happening in the ancestors timeline and possibly how it affected their lives.
