Geneanet at RootsTech 2018 (1)

Posted by Jean-Yves on Mar 1, 2018

RootsTech 2018 will open today, at 6:00pm, for two hours.

This morning, we had some business meetings and we will set up the Geneanet booth at 4:00pm.

We met Norm Thurston, a Republican member of the Utah House of Representatives and an enthusiast user of Geneanet! We thank him very much for his cordial welcome and for the exciting visit of the Utah State Capitol, built between 1912 and 1916.

Streets are very large and there are not so much cars and walkers. The city is very quiet.

We can see some important buildings…

And some French crepes street vendors for the Utah State Capitol employees…

The Utah State Capitol overlooks the city…

And we enjoy the view of the mountains.

The Mormon Battalion Monument.

The Utah State Capitol hall is very impressive. Today, there’s an exhibition and some school visits.

The office of the Governor of Utah!

And the chamber of the Utah State Legislature!

The annual General Session is held for 45 calendar days, convening on the fourth Monday in January. Attendance is compulsory so we leave Norman!

Thanks again to him for the unexpected two-hour visit!
