A New Geneanet Indexing Tool, For Every Level

Posted by Jean-Yves on Feb 5, 2018

We have launched a new indexing tool for all the Geneanet members who already participate in the collaborative indexing of graves and archival records, and for those who’d like to but who found the former tool too difficult to use.

The new tool has two levels (beginner and advanced) and the number of documents to index will depend on your available time (about a quarter of an hour, about one hour or several hours).

Click “Projects > Collaborative indexing” in the top menu bar.

Select your level and available time then click “Start indexing”.

The page also gives your personal statistics (number of indexed documents and individuals), the general statistics (number of documents left to index, total number of indexed individuals and number of participants), and the participants ranking.

Enter as much information as you can for every document.

You can skip any document if you can’t read it, if there’s no name to index or if you don’t want to index it.

As you know, genealogy is based on sharing so don’t hesitate to participate in the collaborative indexing!
