Posted by Jean-Yves on Apr 17, 2017

As you know, on Geneanet, you can invite other members to view your private data and to edit your family tree.

This option has been entirely redesigned to be more attractive and easy to use!

Click “Community > Contacts” in the top menu bar.

On this page, you can view the list of your contacts, sort them by group, edit their access rights, link them to your family tree, view if they have recently visited your family tree, send them a message, and remove them.

Enter the Geneanet username or the email address of the member to invite.

If the person you are adding to your contacts is in your family tree, you can link them to the individual profile.

Select the access rights you want to give to this contact:

– Contact with “Admin” access rights can view private data in your family tree and they can edit your family tree.
– Contact with “Guest” access rights can view private data in your family tree but they can’t edit your family tree.
– Contact with “Visitor” access rights can’t view private data in your family tree and they can’t edit your family tree.

The new contact will receive an email with a link to accept your invitation.
