Did you know that you can upload Archival Records and attach them to your Online Family Tree?
And you can also attach Archival Records uploaded by other GeneaNet members.
Upload an Archival Record
Select the ‘Uploads > Archival Records’ item in the drop down menu at the top right of the screen:
Then click the ‘Upload & Share your Archival Records’ button:
Select the type of record you want to upload: Parish Record (Baptism, Marriage, Burial), Civil Record (Birth, Marriage, Death), Census, or Other (Will, Military Record, etc.):
Then, fill in the form and select the image file to upload:
Privacy Policy: Death records must be at least 50 years old and other records must be at least 75 years old.
Attach an Archival Record to your Public Online Family Tree (GeneWeb)
Go to your Public Online Family Tree (GeneWeb), log in as ‘Wizard’, select an individual, then click on the ‘Media’ tab :
Click ‘Add/Edit’ :
This will open a new pop-up window showing all the uploaded Archival Records that fit the selected individual. Just select the Archival Record to attach to your Online Family Tree.
To attach another Archival Record, you can make a new search from this pop-up window.
If you manually build your Online Family Tree
If you manually build your Online Family Tree, you can also attach Archival Records. Select an individual then click ‘Update’:
This will open a new pop-up window. Click ‘Archival Records’ at the top left of this window:
This will open a new pop-up window showing all the uploaded Archival Records that fit the selected individual. Just select the Archival Record to attach to your Online Family Tree.
Unattach an Archival Record
Go to the pop-up window in which you have selected the Archival Records to be attached to your Online Family Tree (see above), then click the ‘Edit’ tab to unattach any of them:
