Charts and Diagrams – Windows – Purchase

FamilyTreeFactory has been released.

• Fixed bug: At the PDF export of file cards the primary photo is output above on the right, more photos are output at the end of the file card. The additional photos were output on a new page although enough space for a row with photos was available on the current page.
• Fixed bug: If for Relatives Trees a Person Index was created, it could happen under certain conditions that a person appeared repeatedly in the person index.
• Fixed bug: Free Image Objects with EMF or JPEG files with trees exported before offer the functions Free Image Object in Original Size and Snap Free Image Object to Grid in the context menu. These functions only worked when the image files were saved directly in the Main Directory for Image Files, not in a subdirectory.
• Fixed bug: At the Gedcom import of references to image files (OBJE tags and OBJE records) a difference between the file extension and the FORM tag was written to the log although no FORM tag exists.

• Fixed bug: If from a large tree, in which the output of descendant or ancestor numbers was activated and which did not contain duplicates, connected partial trees were created using the Partial Tree Wizard, in the partial trees the descendant or ancestor numbers started with the same initial value. It would have been correct if these numbers started with the same values in the partial trees, which the persons in question did have in the original large tree.
• Important change: Now you can select in the Treeview Options, Box Format tab, whether the box heigths are equal in all generations or whether the box heights may differ from generation to generation. On the one hand place can be saved with that, on the other hand the visual impression can suffer from it. To be able to adjust the unequal box heights in different generations manually while the Automatic Width/Height function is switched off, there are two possibilities in the treeview: You can move the bottom edge of a box with the mouse and in the context menu of the boxes you can minimize the box height for the selected generation or for all generations.
• At Automatic Width/Heigth function switched off, now you can adjust the box width in the treeview by moving the right edge of a box with the mouse.
• Important change: The scale of the coordinates of Free Text, Image and Geo Objects has been changed from cbox-columns/-rows (centi-box…) to mbox-Columns/-rows (milli-box…). Just for the combination of multiple trees it is important to have a very precise positioning. Treeview files (*.trv) of older versions nevertheless can be loaded; the contained centi-box values are converted to milli-box values when reading the data. Treeview files as of this version however, you cannot load with older program versions because the milli-box values are interpreted as centi-box values, that is with the tenfold value.
• Important change: The output language of treeviews is defined as a treeview option now and adjusted there at the Box Content tab. The earlier program option output language has been dropped. Because the output language as a treeview option is saved now into treeview files, it is adjusted correctly again while loading a treeview file. Treeview files named automatically get the language code (for example DE for German) at the end of the file name if the output language is not English; with that treeview files with the same graphic but different output languages stand recognizably directly behind each other in the Windows Explorer.
• The output language of file cards is now adjusted in the Card Index Export Options dialog.
• The output of civil and religious marriage data in person boxes can be reduced to save space: If both marriage data are saved, only the civil marriage data are output. The identification as civil or religious marriage data is dropped at this option. The adjustment is performed in the Treeview Options, Box Content tab, Output Personal Data list, Marriage data area.
• Till now a Gedcom export was prevented if the integrity check found errors. Now the Gedcom export is only prevented if serious structure errors are found. Structure errors are for example references to missing records. At data errors like chronology errors only a warning is displayed.
• At the Gedcom import now surname variations can be imported from ALIA tags. This variations are enclosed in parentheses and added to the surname. The adjustment is performed in the Gedcom Options, Import Options tab, Handling of Special Gedcom Tags and Data list.
• For the Gedcom import the coding methods for godparents and witnesses were extended. The adjustment is performed in the Gedcom Options, Godparent and Witness Coding tabs.
• With a new Gedcom import option, texts can be defined, at the occurrence of which in the “1 DEAT/2 CAUS” tags the FamilyTreeFactory attribute ‘Killed in action’ will be set. These further texts or words like e. g. ‘missed in action’ or ‘deceased in war captivity’ can be used to change the symbol in front of the death data output in person boxes. The input of these texts is performed in the Gedcom Options, Import Options tab, Handling of Special Gedcom Tags and Data list. The editor opens if you click on the line with the texts.
• In the Personal Data dialog, Attributes and Events tab, the radio buttons …in und …near [place] have been replaced by a dropdown list including much more preposition words. KIA places can be output in greater detail with that. The used preposition words are also contained in the output language file so that they are translated at other output languages. Because of the new preposition words, the following has to be taken into account: Family files which were saved with older program versions before can be read from new program versions as of version, however the other way round older programs cannot read the preposition words from newer family files.
• In the {i]Personal Data[/i] dialog, Contact data have been moved from the Attributes and Events tab to the new Contact tab.
• In the Edit Free Image Objects dialog now with the new radio buttons Justification in the edges you can determine how the image is justified in the edges. Different width/height ratios of the image and the area in the edges may cause space for justification either in the width or in the height. How an available space for justification shall be used, is selected with these radio buttons.
• Some small improvements and corrections.
