Digital Archiving Project Now Nearing Completion At The Ukiah Daily Journal

At The Daily Journal, we are currently in the process of digitally archiving all of the local newspapers in our collection going back to the 1860s. Many of those issues are now available online, by subscription at the Web site The archive is searchable by key words and by date.

Portions of the archive are still under construction, but the site will soon contain every newspaper in our collection, covering a span of 148 years. In addition to every Ukiah Daily Journal edition from as far back as 1954, there are other Ukiah newspapers, including the Redwood Journal (established in 1929), and the Ukiah Republican-Press and Dispatch Democrat, pioneer newspapers of Mendocino County, which were first published in the 1860s and 1870s, respectively.
