The Best Vacuum Cleaner Reviews: Roborock S6 — Best Robot Vacuum to Buy in 2021?

Robot vacuums have been touted by many vacuum brands to be “the future of household cleaning”. While it seems like an overly-optimistic statement, there’s actually quite a bit of sense behind it.

Given the chance, nobody would ever want to pick up a normal vacuum cleaner and spend hours every day cleaning anymore. That’s exactly what a robot vacuum can do for you. It can automatically clean your house without needing your manual inputs.

And in today’s vacuum cleaner reviews, you will get to learn about one of the best rated robot vacuums out there according to our market data: the Roborock S6.

Overview

The Roborock S6 is currently one of the Best Rated Vacuum Cleaners in the robotic segment. It has a lot of things going for it. Its premium design and powerful performance aside, this robot is one of the smartest, most technologically-advanced on the market. Completely without exaggeration or hyperbole.

Delving deeper into the S6, let’s talk first about performance.

Performance

In our performance tests, the vacuum excels on bare floors types like hardwood floors. The S6’s strong suction power gives it very high efficiency. Light dust particles are swept up efficiently. Small debris such as rice grains are cleanly dealt with. We also did not run into any significant issues testing the S6 with large debris like cereal bits.

However, where the S6 fell short during our tests is on carpeting, where it only received mediocre scores from our testers. Particularly, the brush roll underneath the robot is way too weak to be able to comb through carpet piling effectively. As a result, the robot didn’t manage to pick up a lot of debris — both small and large.

Pet hair is another story, though. On both low-pile and high-pile carpets, the S6 can cleanly sweep up almost all traces of pet hair. If you’re a pet owner, this will be excellent news.

Don’t be put off by the mediocre carpet performance. This is an issue that is very popular among robot vacuums, even the best rated vacuum models. Until date, we haven’t yet tested any robot with near-perfect performance on carpeting, either.

Design

The Roborock S6 has a very premium design. Its full-black form is stealthy, but also elegant. House guests will have little doubts that the robot is a pricey purchase when they come over.

In the middle of the robot is a silver sensor turret. Inside of the turret is the LiDAR sensor. This sensor is essentially the “eye” of the robot. Through it, the S6 can map out the layout of your home and recreate it into a virtual map. The robot uses this map to navigate the house.

The special part is that the sensor also records the position of obstacles and obstructions like furniture and walls. Roborock S6 will be less likely to get itself stuck, unlike other robots with less advanced navigation systems.

It can even map out drops such as the stairs. The robot will automatically navigate around or avoid these areas.

Notable Features

The Roborock S6 best rated vacuum cleaner comes with multiple notable features. You can connect the robot to your phone through a smartphone app and control it. If you have an Alexa smart speaker at home, you can even issue voice commands to the robot to control it.

Battery life is decent and can last around an hour.

Filtration is handled by a HEPA filter. If your house has allergy sufferers, the filter will help a huge deal during allergy seasons.

Conclusion

Vacuum Cleaner Reviews from customers didn’t lie: the Roborock S6 is a great robot vacuum. Though pretty pricey, it is a worthwhile investment if you’re looking to join the robot vacuum game.
