I have cousins from Ukraine, Jacob Jakole Oleksow/Oleksiow and his wife, Helen Mykytyshyn. They came from my grandmother's village, Zarvanytsia, near the Strypa River.

Does anyone have any information regarding the migration from there to Paris? From Paris, they went to Canada. I understand it may have been an easier path to leave Ukraine.

Thank you for your help, I appreciate it.

Sincerely,

Virginia

Hi,

Do you have a bit more information like e.g.
From which port did they leave ? Le Havre, Antwerp ?
The port of their destination in Canada ?
A date ?
This would facilitate the search.

Kindly
William

Hi,

I got your mail.
I'll be looking for the passengers lists of the SS Pennland. Cherbourg - Halifax 1927. I'll keep in touch.
Kind regards
William.

Hello,

The S.S. Pennland was an Irish ship operated by the Red Line Company in Antwerp. They sailed from August 1926 from Antwerp to Halifax with stops at Southampton, Cherbourg and New-York. Their passenger lists from 1926-08-27 are available online. Pennland Passengers Lists
In this list, I did not find the persons you were looking for.

Before 1926 the Pennland sailed other routes.
1922 : Liverpool - Boston - Philadelphia
1922-23 : Bremen - Southampton - Halifax - New York
1923: Hamburg - Southampton - Halifax - New York

Nor do the Oleksow family appear in Canada's Immigration Lists (all ports) Canada Immigration

Are you sure they sailed to Halifax ?

Kind regards
William
