I am Searching for my Mother's cousin but have had no luck in finding this person.

Her name is Francine G......... She used to live at this address:

...........
13004 Marseille, France
Her phone was: .......

Does anyone have any ideas on how to find this person?

I assume she would be born about the same time as my deceased mother (circa 1930).

Best, bob

Hello,

You can't publish personal information concerning potentially living individuals without their consent, I've deleted some data.

I am working with information written on a piece of paper that was given to me by my sister about 40 years ago. Francine (the family member I am searching for) is most likely deceased because she would be over 90-100 years old today.

jpsaint:

I am American. I live in California.

I have no idea how French telephone area codes work.

This number was given to me on a piece of paper 40 years ago.

Perhaps the French area codes have changed since then?

A quick Google search reveals that the telephone area code for Marseille is currently +33.

But when dialing from the U.S. you have to do it like this:

How to call Marseille in France from United States:
011 - Exit code when making an international call from United States
33 - French country code for inbound calls
4 - Marseille city code
011 + 33 + 4 + Local Number - International dialing code format

So, if you were to dial this old phone number I have I would dial 011 + 33 + 4 + .......?

Can someone on the forum call this number to see if the new person living here knows about Francine?

Best, Bob

It appears that lylyBeth has a promising lead.

Though, I have no idea if this is the correct person.

How would I go about confirming this information because I do not have a Francine GRANGIER in my genealogical tree.

Can anyone recommend a Genealogical researcher in Marseille who could help me?

Best, Bob

Can you tell us what was the relation between your mother and Francine ?
They were cousins but was it by your mother's father or mother ?

If someone volunteers to call, PM the number, don't publish it on the forum.

lylybeth -

In regards to your question about whether this is on my Mother or Father's side. It is all on my Mother's side as My Father was Italian.

The relationship (as I was told on this written piece of paper) says she was a cousin. I assume this means a 1st cousin. Maybe 2nd but unlikely.
