Here’s Sroove and Tawneymucklagh in the 1901 census. Several families to choose from:

Some of those families will likely be related though it may be hard to establish precisely how in every case, and likely the families themselves will not necessarily know, if any of them are still there. (Most families here in Ireland know about 3 generations back so to the early 1900s and after that it gets a bit hazy).

You might get a bit more information if you could spell out precisely what you are hoping to learn, and which specific family you are interested in.

I have actually found DNA connections here in the USA to both my Sharkey and Rourke (O' Rourke) heritage. The Sharkey DNA match is with Martin Sharkey (b. ABT 1813 in County Sligo). He would appear to be a brother or cousin to my GGGF Thomas Sharkey (b. ABT 1815 in County Sligo). The Rourke DNA connection is through my GGGM Celia Rourke and an apparent sister Bedelia (O'Rourke) Golden that emigrated to the USA. I have found what appears to be relatives in both the 1901 & 1911 census. I have also made contact in Ireland with another Sharkey descendant who is waiting for DNA results. Cheers, Ron Norman
