After using Geneanet Upload, the AKA information for the person shown in the screenshot is missing at the top near the picture but has been put with the address information into the notes.

The relevant part of the GEDCOM file is in the second file attached.
Please can you help?

2 TYPE aka: This is a user defined tag used by Family Tree Maker. Each genealogy software has tags that they use for their own needs.

I'll ask the technicians if they can deal with it.

Dear John,

Thank you very much for you message. It should be fixed soon.

However, could you explain why there is this code :

What is the signification ?

2 SOUR @S63@
3 _FOOT Neu-Ulm, Germany. 8.11.2001.
2 SOUR @S208@
3 PAGE Referred to as Henry Branscombe in this document.
1 SEX M
1 BIRT
2 DATE 1829
1 OCCU Rubber Merchant
1 ADDR

Sincerely yours,

Dear Jaques,

The gedcom file was created by Family Tree Maker 2019.
I have experimented with the AKA input fields in FTM. There are three: date, place and description.
In FTM it looks the same (a) if the AKA name is entered in place and description is blank as (b) when the AKA name is entered in description and place is blank. I had entered William Branscombe as 'place' rather than 'description' and did not notice any difference in FTM, but apparently it made the gedcom file look as it did.
Now I have entered the name as 'description' and it looks correct after upload into Geneanet.

If you can allow both alternatives in the gedcom file it would make it easier for FTM users who make the same mistake, but I realize it is a user error from your point of view. Sorry!

Kind regards, John

Dear John,

We have fixed the problem.

Previously we have removed automatically the "2 TYPE aka".

for this kind of structure :
1 NAME Jono Slack
2 TYPE aka

But it broke also this structure :
1 EVEN
2 TYPE aka
2 PLAC William Branscombe

The fix remove only the first aka.

Sincerely yours,

Jacques
