I imported my family tree (Hervey) from Ancestry. I don't know if all of it was imported.
Geneanet states it has 39 possible errors.
What type of errors?
Do you correct the errors?
Do I have to subscribe to Premium to find the errors and get them corrected?
Working on a family tree can easily become a financial burden and extremely time consuming.
Thank you.

usually something like a woman having a child after her death
a person dying before birth
someone over 125 years
....
stuff like that.
I think you must find them & correct them yourself & you don't need to be premium.herseybar1 wrote: Do I have to subscribe to Premium to find the errors and get them corrected?
[I misread your name as "HERSHEY BAR & found that funny ]

So you understand what I was saying to:
Do I have to subscribe to Premium to find the errors ?
YOU can find these errors, all by yourself, like I did for 2 of them.
For that, you don't have to be premium.
In your tree, these errors were very obvious.

Thank you, femuse.
I've worked on my tree so much (can be very tedious), I can't see the forest for the trees.
I was hoping that they didn't mean I had wrong names.
I didn't understand the last error you mentioned.
Thank you for your time and comments!

don't take that in a bad light - but your comments make me think that you are a lot younger than I am, or at least relatively new to genealogy.herseybar1 wrote: Working on a family tree can easily become a financial burden and extremely time consuming.

What you think is a long time may look to some people as relatively short.
As an example , I just received a message from my sister:
she was excited to find a birth certificate she had been looking for .... for nearly 15 years.... and my "little" sister has been "working" on genealogy a lot less time than I have.
I advise you to take your time, and not to except a "final" tree right away.
As I said earlier:
you have some very obvious errors in your tree. Maybe because you tried to rush.
Just look again at all the relationships.
I do not know the people in your tree and it took me a few minutes to find 2 errors.
OK, now, time to go back to work

Working on a family tree is a lot easier and cheaper than it used to be. In the past, you had to visit each town hall, church, or departmental archive in person to read the records. Calculate the cost of travel and hotels needed for a simple search. Now many of the registers are available online and more are coming every day. Those records are being indexed so you can simply type in a name and find a bunch of records... OK, it's not quite that simple as all records are not online and there are errors in records and in transcriptions. But all in all it is easier and cheaper.herseybar1 wrote: ↑14 June 2019, 02:04 Working on a family tree can easily become a financial burden and extremely time consuming.
If genealogy becomes a chore, you may want to take a break. When you're ready to continue, set a budget on how much money and time you're willing to put into it and stick to it as well as you can.
Geneanet does not look for name or person errors. It only looks for logic errors, mostly date-based (too young, old or dead to have children; extremely old in an event; siblings born less than 9 months apart; etc), and impossible relationships (someone is his own grandfather, etc.). Most genealogy programs have similar tools to find anomalies.
You could ask for a premium member to sponsor you. That would give you a month of premium access to see the errors Geneanet found.
