Howitts of Gloucester and Nottingham

I'm looking for anyone researching the Howitts of Gloucester, in the 1700s and early 1800s. A lot of research has already been done on the family of William Howitt, b. 1784 , who married Sarah Huntley in 1851 in Gloucester, and his descendants, including George Armstrong Howitt, well-respected Gloucester sculptor and mason who helped restore old cathedrals.
William was born in Nottinghamshire. Records states that he came to Gloucester in the early 1800s as a Bass Singer on the recommendation of Lord Byron, the poet, to a Dean Prideaux at Gloucester Cathedreal. William was to become a Senior Lay Vicar to St. Catherines, a Band Master (Choir master), and Clerk to St Mary de Lode.
Researching parish records in Nottinghamshire on-line has been a problem for me. Anyone with a good site to recommend?
