According to FTDNA mtDNA test, I am K1c1b.

The data is in a FASTA file that can be downloaded, but this site doesn't appear to have a way to add FASTA files. Must we test with this site for haplogroup info. Since I am female and already have mine and can't do Y testing, maybe I should not be concerned about that kind of info here. I am in a group project on FTDNA site and haven't learned all that much. I did connect with distant cousins over there.

So I know my haplogroups, they don't show with my upload, can you enhance our profiles so we can enter them manually?
Thanks! ...jd

Of what value is a haplogroup? Tracing paternal line and leaerned nothing after taking it.

Haplogroups show up for DNA data from 23andMe (paternal and maternal haplogroups), and latest files from Ancestry and MyHeritage (paternal haplogroup only).

I will tell the technicians about your suggestion of entering them manually.

Hello,
THe new haplogroup addition is welcomed BUT...
Can members receive some indication of what they mean?
Why are they different from anything that we will find on Wikipedia or other genetic websites?
How does R-Y4010 relate to RDC8 apart from the assumption they are the same. Equally my X2 now becomes P4b1
I am experienced in DNA genealogy and used to work in genetics but this 'random' assignment of numbers without is not useful to members.

I will second the request for the ability to manually enter Y-DNA and mtDNA haplogroups. I processed the more detailed Nebula Genomics test data through the BAM Analysis Toolkit to determine this data.

It's actually not possible to manually enter DNA data and haplogroup.

If it is not possible for us to manually input mtdna info, then maybe you could put it in for us??? If we tell you what ours is????
I don't think my genebase results would be compatible with sending over to you....but I can tell you what mtdna is if you can put it in. thank you

We will think about it when the haplogroups will be used in the matches.

Robjaco, thanks for the idea of simply adding the data to your signature. Simple solution and done in less than two mins.
