When I use the search box either on the phone or in the upper right corner when using my computer (there are two search boxes on the computer), I get bizarre results. (The search box on the left works fine.)

The first attachment shows the result when I search for "Elaine Ouellette."

(attachment removed)

The second attachment shows the result when I search for the first name "Elaine."

Again, the search box on the left works fine. So don't change that.

I have asked the technicians to have a look and I'll come back to you.

Hi Carol,

I removed your first image which contains a lot of personal information concerning a living person.

Please try reindexing your tree and see if that fixes the problem:

That does not solve the problem. Same result as before.

Here is how it works in the upper right corner:

When searching for a first name and a last name:
- The search engine returns all men with this last name, and all women with this maiden name or married name
- You must enter all the first names of the person, for example Elaine Theresa
- If you only enter one of the first names, for example Elaine, the search engine may return a variant

That's why Helena Faria married to Timothy Thomas Ouellette shows up when you search "first name=Elaine" and "last name=Ouelette".

When searching only for a first name:
- The search engine returns all results which contain this first name

Got it. Having to type the entire first name is inconvenient. I don't have the middle name of every person in my tree memorized. Earlier I was searching for "Louis" with the objective of refreshing my memory about a boy who was adopted. (It turns out I was looking for Louis B. Langlois.) Because I omitted the 'B,' he wasn't listed in the results.

Yes, you'd better use the search box on the left.
