GEDCOM FILES - media import

I recently tried to upload a ged file and it didn't bring any of the media content that was in the original on Ancestry.com. Does anyone no why or how to fix this? I'd like to become a premium user but if I have to add everything individually it makes no sense to try. Hope someone can tell me how this can be done if possible. Ken

Hi,
I separated your message from the previous thread and changed the subject to be more descriptive.
I'm have not tried this procedure but an administrator should be able to answer your question, although it may not be until after the weekend.

Hi;
I believe you would need to be a premium member for your images to come in with your GEDCOM. It does sound like a 'feature,' and there aren't really a lot of those without a premium account on any site.
I'm glad I moved as when I got here there were over 700 errors in my GEDCOM that I was able to fix. Now I add about 100 people and upload my GEDCOM; then I fix my errors from the other place. But my 'real' tree is here. It works out great.

Hello,
You don't have to be a Premium member to upload your media with your tree:

Thanks Claudine, I downloaded the file and installed it. Tried it but it still doesn't upload photos and other media. All the photos that appear are the ones I manually installed.

Hi Eric, yes that is where I went to download the software to upload and it uploaded the ged from Ancestry but no photos of media was uploaded with it. That same ged from Ancestry works fine with other sites and softwares. I just like how this site gives better options if I can get it all loaded properly

The photos and medias must be on your computer. We can't access the Ancestry servers to get your photos and medias from there.
