Tell me a few Pros of using Geneanet
I know you have the largest database of Graves - how many now?
You support 9 languages

What else are you proud of?

Hi Karen,
I'm a subscriber like you so unfortunately I can't help you with your questions. Someone at the Geneanet staff is much more qualified.
Might I suggest that you use the "Contact Us" feature to send your inquiry? Another option (since I see that you are a Premium member), is to use the "support" feature and open a ticket. I'm confident that you will receive prompt attention.

Kind Regards,

Geneanet is tied up red tape you can't do any thing with it or get nothing out of it its just one big hassle and the costly subscription

I can't believe people are complaining about an ANNUAL fee of $50. That is substantially lower than pretty much any genealogy site with access to docs and historical book scans. That is less than $1.00 per week. Maybe the price was reduced from the original comments.

I have 2 questions that I hope you can answer; 1).What does your Tree-Interface look like? I'm dissatisfied with the interface on most sites as one has to either click to a different/new screen or drag a screen a long ways in order to see part of a branch generation. 2). I am looking for a site that understands & will reflect endogamy, as there are many cousins that married cousins in my history.

For example, when adding a known blood-relation, when I add their spouse, who is also a blood-relative to me, they only appear as a spouse in the relationship detail, not ALSO as a blood cousin. Therefore, I have to duplicate thmany profiles, started at the top to show consanguinity (relatedness). HOW does your site take this into account as it seems to say, & again, can you kindly show me a sample of the Geneanet Tree interface. I am interested in becoming a paid subscriber. Are there different membership levels? I am not interested at all in Genestar.

I'm a paid member who doesn't rate the site highly at all. I paid my membership fee, spent an hour finding out it had less information - as in zero information - than other sites where I have found certain items of interest. I wanted to corroborate or expand on what I had found out and thought Geneanet might be useful for that. Zero help. I wrote to cancel my subscription noting I had paid an hour or so beforehand. They cancelled automatic renewals but refuse to refund what I paid. That's an expensive hour.

I understand Geneanet is owned by Ancestry so I will be withdrawing from automatic renewals there as well and let my subscription on that site run out. I have found Ancestry to be of more use than Geneanet but I'm not paying the same company that won't give me a refund under the circumstances I have outlined here.

Dear Sir,

We have already answered your Ticket Contact.

We are sincerely sorry but the refund is not possible as it's clearly said in the General Terms and Conditions of Sale: https://en.geneanet.org/legal/cgv/#s2a5

If you already have your family tree in another genealogy website or software, you can import it to Geneanet via a GEDCOM file, then automatically compare it to the Geneanet database at https://en.geneanet.org/compare/ (it's a Premium option).

These remarks say that it’s “clearly” noted in the terms this is nonrefundable but I can’t find it. I just read cancel anytime, so it’s a scam?

Subscription irrevocably commits the Premium member for the duration of subscription chosen at the time of registration, from the date at which Geneanet validates the Premium membership subscription.

I just chose one person at random in your tree:

https://gw.geneanet.org/lucaschianonyc?lang=en&n=di+meo&nz=schiano+di+cola&p=elisabetta&pz=luca : you only have her parents' names, and no precise date.

Let's compare with this tree (accessible with a free registration): https://gw.geneanet.org/ericgallo1?lang=en&n=di+meo&nz=gallo&p=elisabetta&pz=adrien+alfonso

It mentions her marriage, her mother's details and a few more generations.

As a Premium member, you can use this tool: https://en.geneanet.org/compare/
