Portrait photos
Hello, I use a generic photo [from my Family Papers & Pictures] to indicate that a person in the tree has emigrated to another country. Recently I accidently used this photo as the portrait of a person who did not emigrate. I am a little concerned that if I delete the photo from this person it w...

Good morning, Some of my family members have requested that their information is not shown in Google searches. I notice from other questions in this forum that the first step is to remove these names from your database. Does this mean that these names and information will be blocked from Google sear...

Re: File back up problem
Sorry, I answered you too soon. I have uninstalled the program that is causing my problem. I am now left with your "base" back up file, which will not now open at all. When I attempt to open it, and select "open with" I get this pop up box: "How do you want to open this file...

Re: File back up problem
Jean-Yves, Thanks for your prompt reply. I did as you suggested which gave me a new"base" file. However, when I double clicked the file it opened again in the "My Family Tree" format. The existing Geneanet file on your site opens and operates perfectly - it is only when I try to ...

File back up problem
Hello, I have encountered a problem recently when I tried to back up my tree. The back up was incorrectly saved as "My Family Tree" type [ 'family x' Chronoplex Software ], which is a site that I had used in the past. Can someone please let me know how I can get my back ups to save s Genea...

Drop-down lists
Good morning,
When I enter details of a new person into a BDM source field I get a drop-down box listing my previous entries.
This can be very useful, but I now find many listings that I no longer use.
Is there a method that I can use to delete unwanted entries?
Thanks,
Andrew

Re: Move Archive pictures to Folders
Hello Jean-Yves Thank you for your prompt answer – however, I should have been more specific with my original question [my apologies for misleading you] When I save a new photo or doc by using Edit>add/edit media file it is saved to the default Family Papers & Pictures file under “View All”. The...

Move Archive pictures to Folders
The quantity of pictures in my Archive folder is becoming unwieldy to manage when searching for a particular photo/doc etc.
Is it possible to re-arrange all of my items into folders to make searching easier?
