200-Year-Old Pub Discovered Underground in Manchester City – Along with Bottles of Brandy

200-year-old underground pub has been discovered in Manchester city centre – along with bottles of brandy.

Archaeologists made the discovery of untouched bottles of booze and personalised crockery containing the former landlord’s name. This came as part of the Port Street project where a 13-storey skyscraper will be built.

Researching the family name VARDON -Most were Protestant/Huguenot located in Montilly -Athis De Orne-France (61). Trying to spelling of family name in 1500-1600 as well as working on VARDON family tree. Any help is appreciated. Merci.
