Search Results List

1. Archive & Indexes:

Contact: Username of the GeneaNet member who have uploaded the archival record or the index.

Qty: Number of individuals that fit the search results list entry.

Surname: Searched name with possible alternate spellings.

Year: Years covered by the search results list entry.

Place: Searched place.

Type: See Section 4 below.

The Individual Search results list will also show the first name, the name of the spouse and the occupation.

The searched name is highlighted in green in the book extract. Reserved for Club Privilege members.

I can’t find my data in the search results list.

The GeneaNet Index is updated within the next 48 hours of your GEDCOM file import or your latest manual entry.

How does GeneaNet calculate the number of results?

On the first page of the search results list, the calculation of the total number of search results is an estimate. When you click on the next page, the total number of search results can change if the search engine has found some duplicates.

I can find my data in the Main Search results list but not in the Individual Search one.

Main Search is based on the GeneaNet Index while the Individual Search is based on the Online Family Trees. Verify the privacy options of your Online Family Tree.

Can I download the GEDCOM file of a member family tree?

No, you must contact the member to ask for their GEDCOM file
