GeneaNet will never sell your records & pictures.

Uploads are moderated. An email will be sent to you when uploaded documents are not accepted.

Supported file size is displayed on the upload pages.

1. Postcards

- Postcards must be at least 50 years old.

- Personal photographies may be accepted if they are of historical interest: house, occupation, etc.

- When uploading a postcard, you must enter at least the place name to make the search easier in the database.

- Don’t crop or edit the picture. Send a good quality image.

2. Family Pictures

- Family pictures showing living persons will be rejected.

- You can send several pictures of the same person.

- Select the type of picture: Individual, Group: Family, Group: Wedding, Group: Army, Group: Sports, Group: Misc.

- You must enter the name and first name of the person, or you can ask for help in identifying the persons shown in this picture.

- Enter a description of the picture to help other genealogists in their research.

3. Archival Records

- Only copy of original records will be accepted: photocopy, photography, microfilm copy.

- Family picture, book extract, coat of arms, note, etc. will be rejected.

- Archival Record may respect the Terms of Use of the repository or the website where you got it from.

- Unreadable records may not be accepted.

4. Headstones & Memorials

- Upload a general view of the monument and a picture of all sides that contain writings.

- Your pictures must contain readable writings.

- Don’t upload pictures of memorials that only commemorate historical events (the monument must contains the name of persons).

- Upload good quality and not cropped pictures.

- Enter the location of the tombstone/memorial.

- Pictures from websites and books will be rejected. Upload your own photos.

5. Indexes

- You can upload and share your personal genealogical indexes.

- GeneaNet will never sell your indexes.

- You just have to send an Excel file or a CSV file.
