Contacts & Inbox

GeneaNet help you stay in touch with family, relatives and friends while doing your genealogy research.

1. Contacts & Address Book

a. Search members

Select the ‘Search Member’ option in the ‘Community’ tab to search for GeneaNet members.

You can search members by their name, username and email address.

b. Add a member to your address book

Click ‘Add to your address book’ in the search results list of members. A message will be send to the member so they could accept or refuse your request.

You can also add members in your address book from their Contact Page:

c. Address Book

Select the ‘Address Book’ item in the drop down menu at the top right of the screen.

You can organize your address book by category (contact, relative, family, etc.) and take notes about your contacts.

The number of contacts of the member (1), the category where they belong (2) and the notes (3) are displayed.

In the left sidebar:

- click ‘News’ to see the latest updates of your contacts

- click ‘Configure’ to set your privacy options (being aleterted when your contacts are updating their data, allowing your contact to be alerted when you are updating your data, etc.) and to manage your categories.

2. Inbox

You can share and discuss with family and friends through your personal inbox.

The number of unread messages is displayed at the top right of the screen.

Frequently Asked Questions:

I want to disable my GeneaNet inbox.

Go to ‘My GeneaNet > Contacts > Configure > Privacy Settings’ to disable your GeneaNet inbox.

I have received rude messages.

GeneaNet is not responsible for the content of the messages of its members but you can post a complaint on our forums if you have received some spams.
